  "description": "Uit de bodem van de Noordzee worden grind, zand, klei en schelpen gewonnen. Bij de winning van zand wordt onderscheid gemaakt tussen (1) suppletiezand waarmee we de Nederlandse kust beschermen en (2) ophoogzand, beton- en metselzand voor commerciële toepassingen op land. \r\nIn de toekomst zal onze zandbehoefte steeds meer stijgen. Niet alleen omdat we meer wegen en woningen willen bouwen, maar ook omdat we door de stijgende zeespiegel steeds meer zand voor de kustveiligheid nodig hebben. Door de toenemende vraag is de verwachting dat we op termijn meer zand gaan winnen dan de natuur binnen diezelfde termijn kan aanvullen.
